Expressions is an entertainment event that encompasses various forms of verbal art, including singing, comedy and spoken word. Through this event, we in MAS Youth NY hope to empower the youth to express themselves through positive avenues, and encourage them to redefine art rather than accept what is handed to them.

The purpose of the event is to provide positive conscious entertainment for the community at large that will create an inviting atmosphere where artistic creativity and talent is promoted.

THE SOUND OF REASON- "If any group is going to change the direction of music I am convinced it will be The Sound of Reason" - Andrew Chang, CBC news

BABA ALI- The founder of Ummah Films, a film company that has produced popular web series including the "Reminder" series and "Ask Baba Ali" series. - A worker in the IT field by profession in California, Ardekani quickly rose to prominence within the online community with films that tackle the broad struggles faced by Muslims in the West and the common misconceptions about Islam.

"L" DEBOIS- Former DefJam artist bringing a new urban sensation to the music world of nasheeds. His goal through his music is to bring social awareness to enlighten the youth and listeners through inspirational lyrics.

KHALIL ISMAIL- Growing up with the principles and moral standards of Islam helped shape Khalil's focused attention to social and spiritual issues within his music. He is set to release a new album in 2009 that will show his true growth as an artist "The Calm Before the Storm".

YOUSAF- An up and coming Spoken Word artist from New Jersey. His poetry is charged with emotion that will get your pulse racing, your heart pumping, and will no doubt leave you breathless.

Saad Haroon is the creator of the Pakistan’s first improvisational comedy troupe ‘BlackFish’. Recently Saad embarked on Pakistans first solo English language comedy tour entitled SAAD HAROON: VERY LIVE! and held shows in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad. The shows and the journey were filmed and the footage is being made into a television show. Saad is also creator, host and writer for Pakistan’s first English language comedy show ‘The Real News’ which is now in its second season on Play T.V (http://www.saadharoon.com/)

Saad Sarwana grew up in Pakistan, and moved to Canada and eventually the US for college, where he completed a degree in Physics. He 's a professional physicist and a published scientist, and works in Superconductivity. But he still continues to make people laugh as "Pakistan's #1 Comic". A former member of McGill Improv he has appeared on a special 20/20 profile on Arab Muslim Comedians in the US and regularly performs standup in the the Tri-State area. Aman Ali is a standup comedian in New York City and the one of the funniest Muslim comedians in the world. A regular at New York City's best comedy clubs and featured performer at the biggest Islamic Conferences all around the world.
